BENJAMIN R. KECK
MANAGING ATTORNEY
Ben is one of Atlanta’s top bankruptcy and commercial litigation attorneys, having represented hundreds of clients under a wide variety of circumstances, including businesses and individuals in need of debt relief, lenders, landlords, and creditors seeking to enforce their rights, trustees and those being sued by trustees, buyers and sellers of assets, and plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of litigation situations, in bankruptcy court as well as state and federal courts. Having represented parties on all sides gives Ben a unique perspective that the vast majority of lawyers simply do not have.
Ben graduated in the top 3% of his law school class, participating in both law review and moot court. During his third year of law school, Ben interned for the Honorable Amy Totenberg in the District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and he worked on several complex commercial litigation cases. After law school, Ben worked as a clerk for the Honorable James Sacca in the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Previously, Ben spent years as an attorney for one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in America, representing secured lenders, creditors’ committees, trustees, individual creditors, and both plaintiffs and defendants in chapter bankruptcy and commercial litigation cases, working alongside and against some of the world’s best attorneys.
Subsequently, Ben joined one of Atlanta’s top boutique bankruptcy and commercial litigation firms and focused on representing small and medium-sized businesses filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and litigating “bet the company” issues.
Ben has litigated and negotiated a variety of issues on both the debtor and creditor sides of the aisle, using creative strategies to achieve optimal results for clients, both in court and at the negotiating table.
Prior to law school, Ben went to business school, where he was the top graduate in the operations management program. While in school, he founded and rapidly grew a landscaping business, and after selling that business, he worked for years in management for the nation’s largest supplier to homebuilders. This business experience, both as an entrepreneur and working for a large corporation, gives Ben a practical business perspective that most lawyers do not have and enables him to relate to business clients and understand their needs in a way that other lawyers simply cannot.
